# Understanding Gradebook and Learner Progress in Open edX

## How do instructors and learners view grades and progress?

Instructors can view the course Gradebook from the LMS Instructor dashboard under **Student Admin** by selecting **View Gradebook**. Learners can view their progress on the course **Progress** page.

### How do I open the Gradebook?

1. Open the course in the LMS Instructor dashboard.
2. Go to **Student Admin**.
3. Select **View Gradebook**.

### How do learners view their progress?

Learners can open the course **Progress** page to view their progress.

### Do hidden course sections count toward progress and completion?

Hidden content does not count toward progress and completion metrics. If content is hidden, it is not included in the learner's progress calculation until it is made available.
