Overview
This article will tell you how a Learner can complete another course before starting this course. To make a prerequisite course please follow this article Specifying Prerequisite Courses
Tip: Make sure you have logged in to the Open edX LMS before proceeding with the article.
Course Dashboard
Go to Course Dashboard page where you will find your enrolled courses. You must complete prerequisite course to access the content of the first course.
Click on the link to start the prerequisite course.
Dashboard will not show you View Course button until you complete prerequisite of a course. You will need to to pass the passing criteria set by your instructors.
Once you met the passing criteria, the first course would be unlock and you can start taking that.
Example
In the screenshots above, prerequisite course whose course number is Trial1 3231. Click on this course and start taking this course.
Passing criteria for this prerequisite course is set 50%. When you met the passing criteria, the first course will be unlock automatically.
The course progress is above than 50% in the screenshot used above that means the first course is unlocked now. Go back to Dashboard and start taking your first course.
