# How to Generate and View Certificates as a Learner
### Overview
When an enrolled student completes all required graded assignments within a course run and meets or exceeds the minimum passing grade set by the instructor, the platform enables certificate generation. The student can trigger this automated evaluation and view their digital credential directly from their primary learner dashboard or their active course player.
**Tip:** Ensure you are logged into your standard student account on the Learning Management System (LMS) and have completed all graded course components before proceeding.
### Step-by-Step Learner Workflow
#### Step 1: Check Passing Eligibility via the Progress Tab
Before generating a certificate, verify that your cumulative assignment grades clear the passing threshold established by the course team.
1. Navigate into the target course run inside your active LMS student player workspace.
2. From the top horizontal sub-navigation tab menu layout, click on the **Progress** tab.
3. Review the interactive horizontal bar charts displaying your scores across quizzes, exams, and projects.
Confirm that your overall grading percentage line matches or surpasses the clear vertical **Passing Grade** benchmark indicator row.
#### Step 2: Trigger Certificate Generation
Once eligibility is confirmed, you can request the platform database to officially compile your document tracking rows.
1. Click on the **Dashboard** link at the top of your platform layout navigation bar to return to your primary personal learning track home screen.
2. Locate the specific course card for the curriculum you just completed.
3. Look directly alongside the right-hand side of the course title row. The platform will dynamically show an active, clickable text banner or button block labeled **View Certificate** (or *Generate Certificate*).
4. If the button displays *Generate Certificate*, click it to prompt the platform's verification loop. The system will process your grading parameters and output your credential string in under 60 seconds.
#### Step 3: View, Print, and Share Your Credential
1. Click the live **View Certificate** button on your course card.
2. The platform dynamically launches your unique, secure web certificate page canvas inside a new browser tab.
3. **Download or Print:** To save a physical or local digital copy, click the **Print Certificate** button overlaying the page header, or use your web browser's print command (`Ctrl + P` or `Cmd + P`) and select *Save as PDF*.
4. **Professional Sharing:** Copy the complete, absolute web address URL from your browser's address bar to share your verifiable achievement badge directly on digital platforms like **LinkedIn**, insert it onto your professional resume, or email it to employers.
### Key Student FAQs and Troubleshooting Controls
#### Why don't I see a 'Generate Certificate' button even though I passed the course?
If your progress chart shows a passing grade but no certificate option populates on your dashboard card, check the following structural parameters:
- **The Verified Track Rule:** Ensure you are officially enrolled in the **Verified** (paid/certificate) enrollment track. Standard *Audit* tracks do not generate completion credentials.
- **Instructor Release Timelines:** Some institutions configure courses to release certificates to the entire student roster at a single, fixed calendar date after the final exam closes, rather than on demand. Check the course updates dashboard page for an official release announcement.
#### What does it mean if my certificate displays an 'In Progress' or evaluation alert banner?
If the platform throws an alert notification when loading your certificate web view, the background processing engines are still actively compiling your secure signatures data or running integrity validation checks against your profile verification logs. Simply refresh your browser page after 5 minutes to clear the caching delay and load the clean certificate document.
